This cabin is a slice of heaven overall, and the views are amazing whether you are staying here or just enjoying the day use area. A note for day users: the cabin is not occupied by a ranger, but by private renters. Please respect their privacy! I've had people just open the door and try to walk in. Please at least knock if you'd like to talk to the person inside! A note for cabin renters: it's strange how remote but not-private this place is. The cabin door does not have a lock (just an outside padlock for when you leave), so you can't stop people from trying to come in and there are no curtains, so when people come up to the viewpoint, which at least a few will during your stay, they can see right in. I'll still come back, but when I do, I think I will bring a sign to string across the porch saying the cabin is occupied and is not a forest service outpost.
