I am so disappointed by our experience at the lodge. We drove from Portland to stay the night, it is a beautiful view for sure and we loved Crater Lake. The lodge experience was horrible. When we went to check in at 4pm, our room was not cleaned and ready. There was one person at the front desk, poor girl, and she had a line out the door. We waited and checked back each 30 minutes, still not ready. So many upset guests. 3 hours later still waiting, and room not ready, and they had no idea when it would be, we decided to leave. Asked them to refund my money and was told I would have to contact hotel reservations by phone. I saw two guests come down asking for supplies for their rooms and frustrated, and so many people waiting. Loved Crater Lake, will not return to the lodge. I understand staffing issues, but then don’t overbook your hotel and charge a premium price with no service available.
