I loved staying at Deer Creek Guard Station for Thanksgiving! The cabin was spacious, fairly clean, and stayed nice and warm. The propane wasn't my favorite (heating, cooking, and lights) but was happy to have all those in the cabin. The land is really nice that surrounds it - lots of evidence of wildlife, but we didn't see any :( (Horse, elk, deer, and cow poo). It was elk hunting season, so there were lots of trucks that would go by, but you hardly noticed any noise. The roads were in pretty good condition - some better than others but easy to get around. We were able to filter water from the creek, but you must bring your own water. The cabin had lots of utensils, plates, cups, pots and pans. Beware of the stuffed coyote ;).
