I went in July of 2020. The wilderness varies from dense forest, wildflower fields, rocky cliffs, dead wood landscapes caused by fires, and stunning mountain lakes. It was spectacular. I would warn against heading towards the lakes in July. At my camp on Scout Lake, I was eaten alive by mosquitoes, which has never been a problem for me in my entire life.
