A well maintained, free campground... Yes, please!
I stayed here and had the whole place to myself. Didn’t expect that, but I was quite ok with it. Definitely was worth the stay.
Whether you’re coming from the north or south, the road getting there can be rough at times, but as long as it’s dry just about any vehicle can make it. Just take your time and pay attention to the road and your surroundings.
Cell reception (if you need it) can be spotty along the road and at the campground. However, there is a decent/strong signal that can be found. Also, just as a tip, always go prepared with enough supplies (food/water/clothing) for you and your passengers, and always let someone know where you are going and when you will return.
