After spending 5 nights here there there is just no way I could do this more than a 3 star review. It was the 1st camping trip for my nieces and and they loved the campground (3 parks to play on, streams to catch frogs and minnows, and swimming), but there are a few things that I just can't get over. The bathrooms are extremely run down. Only one stall has a lock on it and your knees touch the door when you are sitting. The drinking water at times would be Brown and very silty. We had to filter it so feel good about drinking it.. The swimming area and so called "beach" was very overgrown with some sort of vegetation in the water that would tangle your legs and the beach itself was not very Sandy, with how much they charge I am surprised that these facilities are not at all updated, including a playground with loose boards. The excessive amount of golf carts from other campers (mostly from RV area campers) which constantly patrol around your site feels a little weird especially in the tent camping area you have no privacy if people want to be up in your business. There did not seem to be much respect for quiet hours or any enforcement by management for those rules. We had neighbors who were up most of the night 2 sites over from us. It was cool that there was a DJ on Saturday night but I did not expect it to go all the way until 11pm right next to our tent sites with young kids. The music didn't even get turned down it was blaring the whole time with lots of drunken adults shouting.
One more thing is that they advertise a fenced in dog beach, this is extremely misleading as there is a fence on 1 side and in the water section it is roped off, but it is very much not fenced in as our dog could easily run away if he wanted to. No problem with this except the fact that on the website it is advertised as fenced in. We appreciated the affordable boat rentals. The general store had helpful supplies with reasonable prices and had no issue with friendliness of staff as seen in other reviews.
