New owners have unfortunately out priced the park and turned it into a ghost town. We have been camping here in the summer for 10 years with our shooting sports team. 2-3 competitions/weekends per year 4-8 campsites each time UNTIL the new owners increased the price to 140$ per night with a per person per day resort fee. This is not camping rates this is hotel pricing where they provide breakfast and clean up after us!!! We also have been coming for the Halloween “Octoberfest” themed weekend for the last 4 years. We would book the next year on our way out because they sold out the entire campground early. We go all out, decorating the site, partaking in all the kids activities and passing out candy despite the increased cost because it was always so much fun when the campground was completely full and tons of kids come to our site to trick or treat and enjoy all of our inflatables and decorations. We won the campsite contest the last two years and we don’t even have young children we just enjoyed doing to for our friends children and all the 100’s of children in the park. UNTIL this year. We left yesterday and unfortunately will not be back. There were a total of 32 campers in the entire park!!! Less than 100 kids trick or treating despite their website advising to prepare for 4-500 kids!!! We always stay over on Sunday and last year the manager told us to wait till we arrive to add on Sunday to get a much cheaper rate when we complained about the price hike last October. This weekend each of us inquired about the price to add on Sunday the first site was quoted 130$, the second was quoted 115$ and the third was quoted 230$. The website shows the sites 89-94$ depending on which site you choose. We spoke to multiple people including the manager and ended up being charged 115$ for a Sunday night! We were told they would rather have zero dollars than reduce the rate for our 3 sites. There were only 3 other campers in the whole park that night. They have done some very nice upgrades and are continuing to do more they were working all weekend (cutting down lots of trees) and we were told they were adding 100 more sites! I feel the future of this campground may be in jeopardy and we are sad but just cannot justify the price and all of the work we do to decorate our site for the kids when there aren’t many kids to enjoy it!
