This is of the best spots for panoramic views in Macon County - a longtime local favorite. You can see several states and some of the highest mountain ranges east of the Rockies. The hike from the parking lot is an easy half mile walk then you T into the AT. Turn right (south) onto the AT and it’s a moderate walk for a half-mile up to the tower (our 4 year old did it no problem). You can also access the trail from Ball Creek Rd prior to reaching the parking lot. This northbound approach is a little shorter, but very steep and technical at times. The views are great no matter how you get there!
