I was in Hot Springs for a solo retreat with my dog. The locals in town told me about this place and how great it would be for me to visit and walk the property-amazing views and great photo opportunities. In addition, the previous guests at my accommodation mentioned they also visited and were greeted with kindness and the ability to take great pictures. I drove up on a Sunday and was immediately greeted by a friendly dog, and guest. As I was getting my 16 year old blind dog out of the car to walk the property and check out the landscape, the “owner” approached me. He immediately notified me this was a private place and said if I didn’t have a reservation I would need to leave. I explained to him that I was from out of town, staying in a tent, had no internet access and relying on the locals to share with me the best places to take my dog, see the beauty and take some photos. In addition, previous guests mentioned they had walked the property and had a great experience. He said there must be some misunderstand and directed me kindly off his property to the Painted Rock Hieroglyphics off the river-that must be what they were referring to. I apologized and ask if I could at least take some pictures on my way out and he once again reminded me it was private property. This was my ONLY negative experience while in the Hot Springs area. Very disappointed as everyone spoke so highly of the place and I was looking forward to the scenery. Please note at the time I arrived there were very few guests on the property. Didn’t seem too obtrusive to walk for a few minutes and take some pictures of the beautiful place.
