We returned to this park for our third stay at the lower campground during a new moon. Our experience has been the campers are typically there for the star park or ATVs. The hiking is nice, the shower houses are always super clean (composting pit toilet at the lower campground), and the little beach area is always a nice place to chill. The snack bar is cash only.

There is also extremely limited cell service in the park, so it's a great way to disconnect (pay phone near shower house and snack bar for emergencies).

There are a few houses to buy firewood from along the main road or a grocery store in Galeton.

If you are traveling with a dog, you can still get a taste of the Cherry Springs experience by camping here and viewing the sky by the lake.

If you are going to Cherry Springs, always bring more clothes and blankets than you think you'll need. It's much colder there than you think it will be.
