First initial impressions upon pulling into Mayfair wide open entry which was great for big rigs. Security gate at the entrance however I had to stop and block the gate in order to check in,did not see an outlined shoulder to park out of the way. Once inside the office/store staff was friendly and check in process was easy. Store is stocked but very minimal on anything else as far as merchandising or any initial items that would draw you deeper into the store to buy more items.
Sites were large enough to accommodate larger rv's .hookups were nicely done and water pressure was good. Cons some sites are closely packed together, and had tree stumps which was right in front of most rv's entrance doors. my site was for the most part level so it didn't take me long to level up.
I rode around the park and all were friendly. During the evening there was a large group of campers with a very loud stereo system which played till about 11pm. At one point during the evening my family and i had a strong odor of Marijuana which we didn't like smelling.
Some suggestions as we travel to many campgrounds up and down the east coast all season long.
Black top entrance and main throuo fares this would minimize dust, sound, and a smoother entrance for large rigs coming and going.
Larger play area for children, movie night works great at campgrounds using a large blow up screen and providing popcorn for is deffinantely a hit, premium sites for example have a few sites which are concrete with paver stone sitting patio along with table umbrella, chairs and even a piped in wet bar. Pull thru. I have seen camps with these setup and they sell like hot cakes cause it minimizes what campers have to setup so they pay top dollar for these sites.
Lastly the big expense of a heated pool with a hot tub big pay out but big ROI at the end. One other comment was the main bath house needs to be modernized the laundry room had only 1 dryer and washer they looked old. Credit card machines are nice as a lot of people these days don't carry much cash or change.the was rotten and needs to be replaced. The bathrooms could use a fresh coat of paint as well.
Aside from that the campground was open and easy to navigate. Being by the water is also a bonus close enough to towns with shops and restaurants .we would come back again to mayfair.
We went to dump the garbage and there 1 container was over flowing. With as many sites as they have they really should add another 2 dumpsters.
