When to Adirondacks Loj/Marcy Dam and hiked Mt. Phelps. Definitely a challenging but doable hike. The first 3 to 4 miles is relatively flat. Once you get to the last mile and begin the ascent of Mt. Phelps will become tiring. The views on top are spectacular. You can see Mt. Marcy and Mt. Colden in front of you.
