We have been going to whip o will campground through generations of family for Over 30 years. We as adults now I’m 33 started tent camping with our kids every weekend. We asked my husbands uncles family to start joining us which they did. We became accustomed to whip o will lifestyle very quickly. We put ourselves on the waiting list and 2 years later received sites. My husbands families daughter started having issues with another child, whose families were across from their site. It became difficult to handle what was going on with the kids so they attempted to bring it to the owner teds attention. He didn’t engage in the conversation, blew it off. Myself husband and children had no involvement in any of it just were related and signed up with them. Season came to an end and during winter my husband texted asking about materials for a deck this coming season, Ted the owner replied don’t buy any materials until speaking with him at camp. Was a very confusing text as we know we had done nothing wrong! Any message sent to him after that was read and not responded. Left us pretty confused! Months later when it was clean up weekend and Ted (owner) was there my husbands uncle went to go see him regarding the fact they hadn’t gotten a contract. When he talked to him at camp Ted told him they weren’t allowed back and neither was our family! He asked why and he was told he doesn’t give reasons. So he not only didn’t answer texts but then told someone else my business. When I found out I called Ted myself and very nicely addressed who I was and said I just heard from someone else that we aren’t allowed back this year? I said we were always respectful our kids and us never had any issues with anyone or anything and asked if it was due to the issues with the other family? His reply was that he doesn’t engage in conversations involving reasons because that leaves room for interpretation and feelings and nothing is changing! Seems to me that we were kicked out due to being associated with the other family and them having the issues they had. With that be cautious when becoming part of the whip o will family that it’s not always what it seems, that season to season can change and this isn’t exactly what we call home away from home when your not sure if your even allowed back! Watch your children while your there because we know for a fact (had even been reported) that drugs circulate there even from people related to staff members! You can’t trust anyone or anything in this place anymore due to the lack of compassion, empathy, and respect! If you want to not know where you are next year, possibility of your child coming into contact with drugs, and your personal information spread to everyone but you this is the place for you!

This isn’t the whip o will it used to be, the activities for kids stopped, we were told nothing would happen for the kids unless the parents did something and participated when it used to be the staff, now all they do is sit around on their phones while working and hang out with friends also while working!

His 200 people waiting list and the fact that he can make money from just tent campers alone is enough for him to not respect his seasonals, pay attention to staff or manage any dangerous situations that occur there!
