This is a quiet, beautiful area but the road back into the canyon area is rugged and best accessible with a 4-W drive unit. The issue here is that there are wash areas that have basically washed out and eroded the banks making travel treacherous at times. You definitely do not want to be in there when rain is eminent as the going would be treacherous. If you were to consider camping in this area you would need a high profile vehicle, tent or high profile pop-up style camper, etc. There are areas to turn around but you will no doubt need to park, walk ahead and make decisions based on road conditions encountered. No way will anyone be in there with a large motor home, fifth wheel, 30’ trailer, etc. This would be a nice day trip and once you do get back in you end up at a wash area at trails end and although the trail goes further, no motorized vehicular traffic is allowed beyond the yellow cattle guard per government regulations.
