A small lake nestled in the mountains near Jemez. They offer campsites for campers and tents. It’s quiet and clean. If, however, you want to book a spot with electric you must do so early in the season because there are limited spots and they fill up fast. It’s not a large lake by any means and you’ll find most people come here for the fishing. If you want to go have a picnic in the mountains this is a lovely spot. They even have a large group shelter if you want to reserve the spot for a group gathering. Gave it 4 stars because it is small and camping spots fill up fast, but the views are wonderful. If you are going for the day from Albuquerque, plan an entire day. It takes at least a couple of hours to get to and you’ll enjoy a picturesque place for a picnic. They do charge fees so bring cash for the envelope that has a permit ticket for you to put on your windshield. It’s only $5 for a day pass from 6:30 am to 9 pm. Have your fishing license if you plan to fish.
