We stayed overnight at Whitney Pocket. There are several fairly level 'sites' that will accommodate a good-sized RV. We were there the third week of May and it was reaching 100° by 3-4pm. The road from Bunkerville to Whitney Pocket is a fairly rough but paved road. It took us almost two hours to go 20 miles, but that was with the travel trailer. There are several sandstone formations in the immediate area that are very colorful and some are heavily pitted and look like they've been eroded from the inside out.

We left the trailer at Whitney Pocket and drove an additional 15 miles into the desert to see Little Finland. Well worth the effort to get there if you have a high-clearance vehicle, preferably with 4WD.
