We drove from FL to Green Bay, WI to purchase a 2017 preowned 35' Cougar Travel Trailer, including the Blue Ox sway control system.
The owner went over the RV and the Blue Ox hitch with me. We stopped overnight and I needed to disconnect the truck and reconnected it to the trailer in the morning. I wasn't really sure how many links of tension I needed on the Sway Bars, so I did what I thought was right.
While we were driving through the mountains of the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest on I-64; we experienced a scary sway event while heading downhill into a curve. We stopped about ten miles later at a rest stop for a much needed break. While walking to the bathroom, I was approached by Mr. Jim Klynmam (Blue Ox - Dealer Development Manager) He asked if he could have a look at my hitch., and said, "I saw you experience sway while driving through the mountains, and that your hitch was one of ours... "That should not happen"
He stopped at the rest area in hopes I would stop and he could "get a look at the Blue Ox hitch". Jim showed me the proper link tension I needed and how to load the sway bars properly. We never experienced a sway problem again and the towing experience was greatly improved. The Blue Ox system really works amazingly well and Mr. Jim Klynman's commitment to Blue Ox, is any indication of the service level they provide to the products they make and sell.
