Checked in about 10 minutes early with no issue. The Bear Cabin looks lovely from the exterior and has a small living area, a dining table for 4, a small kitchenette, 1 small bedroom with a double mattress and a decent sized bathroom. The Bear Cabin is an ADA Accessible cabin. There was food waste in the kitchen sink from a previous guest. This made me question the cleanliness of the cabin. We ended up washing all the dishes before using them to ensure they were clean. There is a futon in the living area with a very thick mattress that does not stay in place when in the seating position. The mattress slides down making the futon unpleasant to sit on. Maintenance was in the cabin for the TV remote later (it was missing) and when I asked about the futon he said that's how they are...
Later I noticed the smoke detector was missing in the living room area and the smoke detector in the bedroom was dangling by it's wires...?
The mattress on the double bed was very thick (from multiple mattress toppers) and sagged in the middle, creating a 'Mattress Canyon' that you slid into by morning.
There is plenty of space in the bathroom for an elongated toilet but a round is installed. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom making it necessary to open the window for air cirulation - which is great on a 90 degree day! I wiped down the small plastic shelf unit next to the sink (hair and spots of something on the top shelf).
If you are considering a stay here, might I suggest bring along some cleaning wipes.
