We ended up at this campground after not getting in at the first come first serve National park campground in St. Mary’s (and after finding this place we were glad we didn’t get in.) Friendly, helpful, and awesome camp hosts. Tucked in the woods a mile away from the gate, great location next to the river, nice walkway/path around the river with informational signs on the native vegetation/animals, hot showers, and fresh water. This was our favorite campground on our whole trip across Montana. We left to the west side for a few nights towards the end of our trip and highly regretted it.
