We visited this campground on a whim, trying to catch the last rays of sunshine and take in the beautiful autumn colors. We arrived on Oct. 17, 2023, to learn there were only five electric walk-up sites left, all others were reserved. We found one quickly. It was not a prime site but we learned to love it and found it very comfortable. We were in site #127.
The showers were actually very clean. You do have to pay for them with quarters. It was $1.25 for seven and one-half minutes of very warm (non-adjustable) water. My only complaint was the nozzle of the shower was so small and focused it felt like it could chisel a tattoo in my skin. I don't use public restrooms so I cannot comment on these but my husband used them and he's still alive.
The best part of this visit was discovering the annual Halloween activities and the wonderfully kind people. The event(s) appear to be a multi-generational party for people in the neighboring small towns. We met several people who had moved away from the communities yet still return for this Halloween event. My husband and I had never been there yet we were welcomed like we'd been there for years.
We will be back with more candy.
