The campsites are spread out and the campground is not crowded. They have shower, they are not the cleanest but they are decent. Bathrooms are relatively clean and there are bathrooms on both ends of the loop. There was plenty of clean water available. We camped with a tent and in a shaded site (#2). The site was nice and the tent area had a slight grade for water runoff. There was not a tent pad just the ground, and there were a few very small rocks and roots in the area. It was not really a big issue with a tarp laid down. I would have rated it a 4 star but there was one big issue especially for tent campers. I don't know about the opposite side of the loop but at Site #2 there was a lot of noise coming from the highway even until 2AM. It seemed that everyone in the area owned a LOUD motorcycle or removed the muffler from their truck/car. I believe the traffic noise was from Highway- O. If you have a RV it would probably not be an issue and I cant speak to the other side of the loop since it is on the other side of the hill.
They have tent sites that have tent pads that are on balconies/wood platforms, built into the side of the hill which look out into the forest. Those may be interesting to camp at.
Overall while it was a nice well maintained campground, but I would not return, tent camping, due to the traffic noise that ran well into the early AM hours.
