If you're looking to drop yourself into the middle of nature with no modern-day interruptions, this is your spot. It's along the river and is rustic. There is only 1 bathroom, no sink. No electricity or water hook up either. There are metal and concrete fire ring pits and very sturdy picnic tables. The spits are bigger than other campgrounds I've been to. As to atmosphere and nature.... put it this way: one night, we hear 2 owls calling back and forth in trees right next to our tent. I was told coyotes are around this area, but I didn't see or hear any the whole time I was there. The river is a quick moving current, but fishing is done there. I've even seen some kayakers coming down the river past the campground. There are no reservations for spots it's first come, first serve, but totally worth it.
