Came here to Rock Hunt on the beach and was not disappointed! We lucked out on the campsite we got as it backed up to trees and was very spacious. Not all of them are like that and appear to be on top of each other. There are two bath houses that are well maintained and regularly cleaned.
But... The campfire pits are poorly placed on most of the sites and are right on the lot lines. The quiet hours start at 10pm - the nights we were there the rule was not followed and there was no staff around to enforce it. Listening to loud, drunken parties from people several sites away until well after midnight was not a peaceful experience. There are signs that dogs must be leashed at all times and aren't allowed at the beach - that rule was also broken all the time and there were dogs all over the beach.
May give it another try during the week sometime and see if the experience is more peaceful than a weekend at the end of September.
