Birch Bay is a very nice campground located on a lake with decent proximity to town for restocking activities.
Our issue is with our site F4 issued to us for our 1.5 month stay. It was not suitable for a 40 foot class A coach. Site was not deep enough and had severe slope.
Owner tried to reduce slope with a backhoe but we were still left with a sloped coach situation with full jack extensions and the rear jacks in sandy loose rocky soil.
The owner had to loan us a manual step so we could simply reach our first step of our coach. Each Dump of the Black and Gray tanks involved a manual manipulation of the waste water uphill to the drain.
Upon leaving the resort to our next stop we noticed the damage done to our rear right jack in the soft rocky soil it was submerged in at Birch Bay. We have contacted the resort about this but so far no offer of compensation.
So our advice for this property if you are a first time stay is (1) see and survey your site before accepting and paying. (2) bring extra leveling pads as a lot of slope on most sites where plenty of concrete blocks get used for leveling.
