My wife, 4 year old son, 1 year old son, and myself rented Camp 2 for two nights during a work vacation. We chose Town Line due to a reasonable pricing and the fact that it was advertised as a family campground. We arrived in the mid afternoon and the camp was very clean and spacious enough for the family. The campsite itself was small and arranged oddly, with the fire pit against the tree line. We unpacked and relaxed for a few, with no interruptions outside a couple of wasps.
The next morning I lit the small charcoal grill I had brought, and in the process of cooking, noticed several more wasps in our site. After breakfast, one stung my one year old on the hand. I went to the office and let them know about the wasp issue, and we went to Jefferson Scoop for ice cream. When we came back, there were twice as many wasps. We brought the kids inside the camp, but there were wasps in the camp as well. With another night left to stay, we decided that we couldn't do so with the wasp problem at hand, and carefully packed our things, and completely cleaned the camp and site.
Upon leaving, we stopped by the office to check out. I explained why we were leaving and asked for a refund for the second night, as until the wasp problem was resolved we could not stay. The woman informed me that they do not normally issue a refund, because they are unable to rent the camp that night, to which I replied that they couldn't rent it full of wasps anyway, and we would have stayed if it wasn't for the issue. The woman stated that she needed permission from the owners, and that they had my information and would contact me about a possible refund due to circumstances beyond control.
I received a call later that night (Friday, August 29) asking if I had turned in the lock to the cabin, to which I replied that no lock was provided. She stated she was still waiting to hear back from ownership about a refund. Today is Tuesday, September 1st, and I have not received a call.
What was hoped to be a great trip (and first camping trip for my youngest) was an immense disappointment, especially for the kids. Ownership does not seem to care about the experience once they have your cash in hand. It's unfortunate, because it's a nice spot and had the potential to be a relaxing time and good memory for the kids.
Note: While the campground is touted as a family campground, there's really nothing for children 5 or under to do, as the playground is extremely limited (one or two different pieces of equipment made for older kids). The beach is also very limited.
I can't recommend this campground, and would look at the other options in the area.
