Great Pond can be a lovely place to stay for past and present United States military members.
There are three main cabins, a few yurts, and designated spaces for RVs. The cabins come with appliances as well as a fire pit. Most beds there are pleasant, and the blankets are warm. The buildings are more than thirty years old, so certain areas are more worn than others. The shower makes you claustrophobic, and bathroom is sideways..?
The environment is calming and peaceful. The various wildlife leaves much to discover, such as eagles, fuzzy caterpillars, monochromic woodpeckers, and maybe even a moose. The earthy fungus grows between the rocks while streams run on the sides. There are no ticks, but there's still mosquitos.
There are plenty of activities for everyone. The rec center offers anything from kayaks to craft days. The kayaks or canoes are only twenty dollars for the whole day. There's a swiming area and pinic tables in front of the center. Behind the center, there's a small playground with a ping-pong table, horseshoe, etc.
Wifi is available either in the rec center, outside in the front, or behind it.
