I camped on Bowtie Island for a couple days in late March 2018. The best entrance to the campsite is from the east side. The wind and cool temps were enough to control the bugs. The entire campsite is centered in mangroves, so the wind has to be strong to feel a breeze or control no-see-ums. The campsite is literally next to the boat channel, so there's a lot of traffic by the island BUT those people really can't see the campsite or even know it's there. Someone left a table there, and I carried out all the beer cans. There's also not much shade.
