When I was a child 7-8-9 years old back in the early 60s and into my 20s we would come here when it was only sand and one small dock and a bait store. And to get to the location one sand road and a small wooden one lane bridge.
One morning about 30 minutes before daybreak traveling down the sand road and when we got to the bridge it was washed out and we jackknife and flipped over the boat and trailer. It was a bad day and after the boat and trailer was flipped upright we went home with a screwed up boat and a bent trailer. The owner had a military halftrack to pull people who would get stuck in the sand and pulling out vehicles stuck pulling their boats out of the water
It was so different from what it is today. No limit on fish and you could keep everything you pulled out of the water. I haven’t been in several decades but I plan on going this spring 2024
