Make sure to reserve your spot in advance, but we loved staying here the night before driving to the summit for sunrise. We used a rooftop camper and parked up by the picnic area without issues. Clean drinking water, pit toilets, picnic tables available. You are inside the summit district so this counts as a pass for the sunrise.
