I typically head straight to Lake Conasauga first come first serve (Which I love by the way). But in the off season when Conasauga is closed during the winter months, Hickey Gap is not a bad choice.
However it is just off the main road, and there are only about 5 sites so keep that in mind. There is a vault which I did not have to use, but a vault is a vault..
