I have visited Atsion lake in mid-winter to check out hiking trails that start from its large parking area. Official trails along lake shore are also most picturesque. If you want to extend your hike, numerous sandy roads are connecting with official ones. I have hiked unmarked trail to Goshen pond area and returned back via Railroad Ave to main parking lot (word of caution that multiple fallen cedar trees made it non-trivial).
