We definitely had a memorable weekend at the Quarry.

During our stay, we got approximately 4 inches of rain followed by a day and a half of georgous fall new england weather. It really showed the charm and scenery of the grounds.

The rain overflowed the creek, causing flooding at some sites, and the creek took over the bridge and only entrance to the sites but did not make it impassable. Nothing stops Mother Nature, right?

I was very excited to go fishing, but after hours, i couldn't get any fish to bite(very upset). I assumed the raised water levels and temperature changes weren't helping. That's fishing though, im.excited to come back and try again.

The water in the creek and pond is crystal clear like I've never seen in Connecticut before. Truly a amazing site to see.

When pulling into the campground, there is a storage lot, parking lot, main office, rec building, beach, swimming pond, playground, mining site, and giant sling shot to aim and fire pumpkins at a canoe and mannequin. The entrance to the sites is lined by 2 rows of mature trees and large ponds on either side. Very picturesque.

The sites all seem very wide and level. We had zero leveling to do to our trailer. the sites were all surrounded by mature trees and a shaded canopy of braches and half changed fall leaves. The rear section of sites gets a little tight and may be tough to navigate and back in larger units. They have a bunch of pull through sites in the field that seem to have plenty of room.

Based on the map and us walking around, I can tell they have big plans for year 3. Lots of new sites are being designed and worked on

The walking trails are so wife and well maintained

The best part about the entire campground was the staff. They can't control rain and flooding and fish not biting, but they can certainly handle the stresses it brings with it. Every conversation I had was so nice and respectful (I didn't know I was talking to the owner). Came for a 3 day weekend and ended up leaving our trailer to be winterized and stored on the property.

We felt so safe and trusting with the staff that it made sense to have our trailer winterized and store the camper for the winter here and make it our first trip in the spring. We were even thinking about going seasonal here to give me another chance to get some fishing done.

Overall, it was a much needed quiet weekend with the wife for our anniversary, and even though the weather was not great, the experience we had was.
