Nothing on the website/ brochure/ camp ground signage said that Primitive Camping is no longer available throughout the entire park. So when I arrived at dusk on a Sunday night after a long 12 hour drive, I set up camp. We built a fire, ate a meal, and went to bed. 1030 a trooper woke us from our sleep with blaring lights and through a speaker told us to “abandon our post. “ Who says that, nerd?
Update your signs! The website said the camp office was open til 8. We got there at 7. No one was around. And what respectable camp site does NOT have tent camping? You have ALL of that river real estate and no one can use it. Like me, who is touring this great nation and the park can’t provide me a place just because I don’t have a CAMPER. SHAME!
