I really love this park. There is something for everyone. There is an accessibile trail on one side of the fishing pond (paved). The rest of the pond loop is pretty flat gravel. It's great for family that want to fish and also offers a great opportunity for small kids to "hike" around the lake. No swimming, watercraft or dogs are allowed in the pond. There are docks, but you will need to bring your camping chairs. On weekends, there are a lot of kayakers at the river. Let's talk trails! I recommend downloading the ALL TRAILS app and downloading maps because there is no cell coverage. The trails are nicely marked. Some are definitely more strenuous than others, but you can look at the app to see which will work for you. Many trails interconnect, so you can cut your hike short or make it longer. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks. You will hike through shaded areas and areas in full sun. Be aware that there is NO cell coverage through most of the park. You will also see the impact of the Hi Meadow fire that happened 20 years ago. 😞 Dogs are allowed ON LEASH. Of course, there are always entitled people that feel the rules don't apply to them. (Last weekend, there were 2 dogs off leash on the trail, and an older couple allowing their dog in the pond). Dogs and people are allowed in the river, so please leave the pond to the people that fish. (I don't fish, but I believe the park is for everyone's enjoyment). My pictures are from the pond loop, Parkview trail, buck gulch trail and a small section of strawberry.
