03/17/2018 I arrived to find Fourth of July road closed. Had to park along the road with many others. It’s about 3/4 to a mile walk just to get to the Hessie trail. It was a great day the sun was out and had a lite wind. Well I made an attempt to reach Jasper Lake, but gave up due to I was cutting the trail all the way back. Snow was deep even for snowshoes. I did meet some guys going up as I was coming down.
