We recently finished our custom conversion with CCV and absolutely love it. Before we decided on them I had read all the reviews and was particularly concerned about (1) build quality; (2) customer service; and (3)completion schedule. We started talking with Derek in July 2021 and honestly (as others have said) it was hard to get a hold of him. CCVs business has taken off in the pandemic - 90% of Sprinters on the Colorado front range get sold for conversion - its a booming business. But with the boom CCV has also changed a lot of things - more management, much improved planning, and a focus on customers and what they want.
Our experience, working with Caleb Winters as the CCV lead, was excellent. The van was not completed on time - but we did a unique and complete customization and co-designed the end product. With all our ideas, changes and supply chain issues we didn't expect the original timing to be fulfilled. Build quality is good - quality materials and laminates, solidly built. We did have a few bugs with some layout issues and finish qualities, but Caleb advocated for us and everything got sorted out. And as regards customer service we are very happy - Caleb kept us informed all along and was always open to our ideas.
I think the rule here is that if one expects a standard product then one can expect a specific quality standard at a specific time. As Henry Ford put it when a customer asked him about colors on his Model T: "you can have any color you want as long as it is black." We wanted something built to our design, fabrics, wood trim and color scheme so we entered the relationship as a partnership, collaborating to get what we wanted. And we did.
We have owned 6 RVs previously (including a wonderful Airstream) and know how the industry works and the vast gap between what manufacturers promise and what is delivered. Working in partnership with CCV we have bridged the gap and give us exactly what we wanted! We recommend them!
Attached are some pictures of the finished product (insofar as an RV is ever finished.....)
