Great place to go that’s still a short distance from Denver. FYI- navigation will trick you and try to make you go up a road that doesn’t exist. Look for the rough looking road and wooden sign that has a variety of other landmarks and says “Loch Lomond”.

!! Another FYI- there is NO parking allowed on the main road. You will need to actually turn onto the road that leads to the lake and park somewhere on there. Everybody parks on the main road anyway- despite the numerous no parking signs. But the ticket is supposedly $80.

You’ll probably want high clearance and 4WD for the road, but we saw some vehicles get up to the lake that uh... made you wonder. See attached pic. Props to them ;)

We did dispersed camping for a couple nights as well. Pretty standard dispersed camping rules, pack it out and camp 100’ (?) from the water. No dumpsters or restrooms. There’s a couple of spots in the vegetation, but most just settled for the general parking lot area.

There is a waterfall but the trail seems to be more from erosion than an actual marked trail- prepare to potentially get wet!

Anyway- very cool place if you can get up to it!
