Wow 😲 well worth the 1 mile drive on gravel. We loved this place so much 😍 Beautiful, quiet hidden gem 💎 84 acre lake - perfect for kayaking and fishing, miles of maintained hiking trails, stunning modern nature education building, plethora of plant and bird species. 4 rv/electric camp sites and 4 beautiful tent sites sprinkled around the park, 2 tent sites are just off the road and one (or two) are hike in camping. We couldn't locate the 4th tent spot. Tent sites have park grills, a fire ring with a grill and a picnic table. An absolute bargain at $10 a night for a tent site. They also have two huge, brand new cabins (more like houses) that each sleep 10 for $150 a night each with all the desired amenities - running water, AC etc and a huge brand new pavilion with 6-9 picnic tables underneath. There are three pit latrines that were fairly clean, with the usual cobwebs you'd expect to find in a pit latrine. We especially appreciated the pre-split, donation system firewood at the campground. Our only complaints are: there are no flattened/level areas in the tent sites to pitch a tent so we (barely) slept on an incline and, THERE IS POISON IVY EVERYWHERE. I couldn't walk more than a few feet around the perimeter of our campsite without finding poison ivy. Be smart if you're going to collect firewood or hike here and cover your skin up, keep your pet on a leash and out of the understory. All in all 10/10. We will be back. Thank you Pony Creek! ❤️
