The campground is huge and very nice. Large wooded and level sites. It’s very well maintained, bath houses are clean and the staff was great. There are several sites on the river which most people prefer. But we camped on Sweet Gum loop on the Clear lake side. We were the only ones on that loop. It was so quiet. All you hear are the sounds of nature. The cypress trees are beautiful and lots of wild life to see. There are a couple walkways across the lake and a couple of piers as well. While biking we saw several deer and several birds. The Tom Bevill Lock and Dam is only about 3 miles from the campground it’s an easy bike ride. The road is not busy at all. Across the river is the Visitor Center there you can tour the beautiful home and the U.S. Snagboat Montgomery at no charge.
