Owners declared no camp fires the entire Labor Day weekend because they misinterpreted a statement from the NWS (yeah, I realize their sign in the picture says DNR - that's part of the problem). Only a portion of Sunday was actually covered by a Red Flag Warning, much of the rest of the weekend was great campfire weather. Also, the sites in the 50's area of the campground are pretty bad for leveling and for being able to see where your site actually is. No leveled pads for placing campers. Fire rings are buried in to the ground, tiny, and in places that don't make any sense for where you end up having to place your camper (our fire ring was only a few feet away from the front corner of our camper). Our group ended up moving picnic tables and other stuff over the rings at most of our sites so we'd stop falling in to them.
