This was our first trip to Blackhawk Lake. We were impressed by the high upkeep and customer service. This beautiful hidden gem is privately owned--we couldn't believe such a huge campground was privately owned. It looks and feels like a state park. We camped with a camper. The sites are spacious. We didn't feel cramped at all. Plenty of space for the family to run around. The sites have electric but no water hookup. You can fill up on potable water near the blackwater dump station. Playgrounds we're scattered around the campground. We were happy that it was a pet friendly park. The bath houses were updated and extremely decent. We we're here in October on a cold, colorful fall weekend. It was quite peaceful, but lots of campers were still here, stretching the camping season. In peak season, I could see this place being full and very fun. With a boat launch, clean beach, swimming area, canoe/kayak launch, this campground has it all!
