Arrived at the shelter that we reserved weeks ago in the morning with our group for a day of outdoor cooking training only to be approached by another group who had been double-booked by the park. We tried to compromise and moved completely out of the shelter house so they could use that, and moved everything to the fire pit. We had had a fire and charcoal burning for about an hour already, so we could not move from that area. Then, the superintendent approached us and very rudely stated that she was going to call the "deputies to remove us for trespassing" even though she admitted they had double-booked us. She expected us to be able to move our campfire to another location to continue cooking our meal, which was about 15 minutes away from being finished cooking. Seriously! She really expected us to relocate our fire and cooking to another area, which she also told us was booked for use an hour from then. The rude and condescending words and tone used by her and the party who was double-booked was so completely astounding and unacceptable. We were treated like hostiles who just took someone's reserved spot even though we have proof of our reservation. I have honestly never been spoken to by someone like that. She had the audacity to berate us only to invite us to come back again. Ha! Not happening - ever! (The really crazy part is that we were directed to the Hedstrom shelter which is not on a map, and had to be directed to that area by someone working at the park. You just don't happen upon an area like that.)
