Just got home from a trip to Indian Celina with my husband and three kids (ages 4,3 & 1). We just bought our first camper so this was our first trip as a family (usually we go with 4 other campers). We’ve never been to this campground before and it was really nice. We stayed at site 13 which was a nice spacious lot. The trail to the bathhouse went through another site which was vacant so it wasn’t a big deal; however, if it was taken it would be a bit awkward walking through their site. The kids got a little bored because there wasn’t a playground; however, there were two swings my two oldest were able to use (next to the bathhouse) We went hiking Saturday and the trails were really nice. If you’re taking a stroller make sure it’s a jogging type stroller or one that’s easy to maneuver. My 3&4 year old boys did great on the trails and loved it! The sites are all pretty secluded with trails to the bath house. We really liked the secluded atmosphere. We usually camp with 4 other campers, with that said the spaces were pretty spread out so getting campers together (like we’re used to) was a little different if we’re going to go in a big group. We made several laps around our loop which kept my kids entertained. The bath house is very nice! There’s also restrooms (outhouses) around the sites that were really nice as well! The staff was always friendly and informative! We also had a raccoon friend that came and visited every night! We would be sitting right under the awning and he came right up to the steps (where our trash can was located) make sure you close up or put trash away and out of reach of those little pests. We will definitely be back, maybe as an adult only camping trip though.
Thanks for a great weekend!
