I met my boyfriend about 8 years ago. 2 years ago he brought me here because he knows I love hiking. I fell in love with what is basically a hidden gem. This place is so beautiful. I could spend all day here soaking up the views the sounds the smells of forest preserve. We come here every time we come to visit his family as I have dragged him to the northeast of Illinois now. I never get enough of this place, I’ve seen otters, deer, hunted for mushrooms, even got engaged here. my boyfriend now fiancé knew this was my happy place so he proposed to me right at breezy point while we were soaking up the sun.
Camping, trails, picnics , fishing you can do it all. They also have a food stand that’s open in the summer with a wide variety menu. Just come and see it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
