We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Camp Lakewood Campground. The sites had views of the lake, were nestled in the pines to provide shade and had picnic tables and fire pits. We especially liked that it was a “true” campground - no permanent residents, no concrete. The office staff offered daily coffee, popcorn and homemade cookies. The store had many supplies available. The grounds were clean, mowed and there were a variety of outdoor games available. If I were to travel through Illinois again, I would definitely book a stay here.
