What a cool place full of colonial/pioneer history. You can park right at the fort or park further down the park and walk a short paved trail up to the park (it is a slightly inclined trail). The park has a small museum as you enter the fort. I wish it had more items for sale like t-shirts or magnets. It sells a few hand made items from that time period like hand dipped candles , wooden spoons, etc. Once you enter the fort, each little part focuses on a certain area like gunsmith; cloth spinning; wood working; pottery, etc. Some have employees demonstrating the craft and dressed as in the time period. A few parts are replicas of things like a tavern, living quarters, etc. There are bathrooms on each end and one side has a small auditorium that plays a short film about the fort. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I’d estimate 1-3 hours here, depending how much you read the displays and look at the artifacts. It’s a very cool place and I’d highly recommend it if you are passing thru the area .
