Did you know Old Davidsonville was the very first 9 blocks in Arkansas? Or that it is the home to the very first post office and courthouse in Arkansas? Well now you do! I absolutely love all the history and educational opportunities this place has to offer. It is nice and quiet even with a campground full of people. The waters are calm and you can sit and watch the fish jump. Not only is the park very well taken care of but so are the campsites and bathhouse. The visitor center has a boat you can go inside of and look at things you would have seen back when they where settling here in Arkansas. Don't forget to pick up a state book and stamp it while you're in there! The Rangers are extremely helpful at answering any questions you may have and if you buy firewood from them they will deliver to your campsite for you! Which I definitely suggest doing because 1 you're putting money back into our state park and 2 you're not bring in bugs that aren't from this area which could cause a terrible amount of damage in a short amount of time. They also offer canoes to rent and have some beautiful trails to hike. They even have a playground to let your little ones run around and tire down. Not too far from walmart in Pocahontas if, unfortunately, you forget something; but far enough where you don't hear all the traffic from the city. We definitely plan on coming back to camp here in the near future!
