I am new to the Lafayette County area, so imagine my surprise when I found this little gem of a lake and camping area. I've camped out here twice now and really enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, it looks like the National Park Service has just let this place go and they are decommissioning it for campers. Nothing is being maintained. Why? Right now, I'm looking down at a group of 30 or 40 vehicles and a bunch of kids and families having fun in a Mississippi Law Enforcement fishing tournament. In my last outing here, there were 8 families camping. Most didn't look very wealthy like those folks with RVs and campers who enjoy the big lakes in North Mississippi... looks like lots of funding for those facilities. But the folks camping here were enjoying their tents and campfires. The kids were having a blast. Why are they decommissioning camping at this lake? This is wrong! Please reconsider! And fix it up please!
