Absolutely fantastic campground. If I could I’d give it 6 stars!

Showers:

-Clean

-Handicap accessible

-Free showers with hot water.

Campsites:

- Every site is good. Like no joke. Just pick one.

- Well maintained.

- our campsite, #10 had a fire ring with a grill & a charcoal grill. Covered patio. Flat concrete pad. A useful pole with a J-hook for cables or lanterns.

-quiet during the week

-The covered picnic table is also handicap accessible! I love seeing this, I’m not handicap myself, I just love it when I see a disabled person enjoying the outdoors with all of their needs met! Nature is therapy!

Camp host:

-Kind

-Keeps to themselves

-Keeps up with duties

-A great host in general. Just follow all the camp rules & you’ll have no issues!

Mid-late October is a great time to visit! The migratory birds are in full swing, the trees are turning & there’s even a number of walnut & pecan trees to harvest a little snack if the critters haven’t beat you to it. Absolutely fantastic sunsets!

Oh & we heard there’s alligators living in the lake so keep your pets close! But in the fall they go dormant for the colder season so we didn’t see any. BUT… late one night we did hear a huge repeated splashing/slapping sound in the water. We could only assume it was an alligator that snatched something & started barrel rolling. 😬
