Really great primitive campground! A great location situated in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway between Asheville and Boone. This campground is close to the town of Spruce Pine, which has a Walmart, a few restaurants, etc. their bathrooms were very clean, and the tent sites included a firing ring, tent pad and picnic table. their sites are on a first come first serve basis. I went in the middle of October and I got there about 1 PM on a Saturday and there were a lot of sites available, but they did fill up quickly as the day went on. They have Rv sites. The trail to Crabtree Falls is right beside the campground. You can also purchase a bundle of wood at the campground if needed.
